Designed for operation in the marine VHF FM frequency band range, between 156 and 162MHz, which includes all currently allocated international channels. 

The MT-500 has Digital Selective Calling (DSC) capabilities when connected to a compatible GPS receiver with ‘distress’, ‘all ships’,‘individual’ and group DSC call formats supported.

There are 32 memories for storing incoming DSC calls and 32 for your personal DSC call directory. Other features include position send/request, all channel scanning, priority channel scanning, memory channel scanning, one button instant access to channel 16 and an alphanumeric keypad on the microphone.

The large, easy to use “SELECT/ENTER” knob is easily rotated and pushed for simple operation, channel and menu selection. The easy-to-read, four line LCD displays current operating status, menus for selecting functions and settings for optional features. The microphone has a keypad for changing channels and selecting functions. In keeping with its intended use in the harsh marine environment the MT-500 is water ingress protected to submersion standard JIS-7.
