Bi-focals are the answer!! Fuglies bi-focals are basically a normal pair of polarised sunglasses with a half-moon magnifying insert placed in the bottom half of the lens.

The inserts are out of the way for straight-ahead distance vision, but just glance down through them for near-distance vision enhancement. Simple!!
